Working Visit of the InfoCons – USVT Delegation to the Consulate General of Romania in Birmingham as Part of the ProEduHub Project

As part of the activities carried out in the United Kingdom through the ProEduHub project, the delegation composed of representatives of InfoCons and the „King Michael I” University of Life Sciences from Timișoara (USVT) paid a working visit to the Consulate General of Romania in Birmingham.

The meeting provided an opportunity to present the objectives of the ProEduHub project, which is dedicated to facilitating access for young Romanians in the diaspora to the educational opportunities offered by Romanian universities, while also discussing potential avenues for cooperation in support of the Romanian community in the United Kingdom.

The meeting was attended by Ms. Mihaela Savu, Consul General of Romania in Birmingham, who welcomed the delegation and supported the dialogue on initiatives aimed at assisting the Romanian community and promoting projects dedicated to the diaspora.

During the event, several speakers highlighted the importance of education and cooperation between Romanian institutions and Romanian communities in the United Kingdom. The speakers included:

  • Mr. Sorin Mierlea, President of InfoCons, who presented the mission and objectives of the ProEduHub project;
  • Professor Cosmin Alin Popescu, Rector of the „King Michael I” University of Life Sciences from Timișoara (USVT), who presented the University’s academic offer and achievements;
  • Ms. Carmen Avram;
  • Ms. Ramona Diana Racotea, member of RUDA – Romanians United in England;
  • Professor Ovidiu Bagdasar, Professor of Mathematics at the University of Derby.

The event also brought together other representatives of the Romanian community and the academic sector, who shared their experiences and discussed the needs and aspirations of young Romanians living abroad.
