Sorin Mierlea, President of InfoCons, Attended the Fifth Edition of the Symposium on Medical Diplomacy in Brussels

Mr Sorin Mierlea, President of InfoCons, attended the fifth edition of the Symposium on Medical Diplomacy, held in Brussels on 12–13 October 2026.

The event was organised by the Embassy of Romania to the Kingdom of Belgium, in partnership with the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe, and brought together officials, government representatives, public health specialists, academic and research professionals, as well as members of the Romanian medical and pharmaceutical community in Belgium.

This year’s edition focused on cooperation to advance personalised medicine and integrate new technologies into healthcare systems, with particular emphasis on governance, administration, health data management and equitable patient access to innovation.

An important objective of this diplomatic initiative is the development of the Platform for Romanian Doctors in Belgium, created to connect Romanian professionals working within the Belgian healthcare system with universities, hospitals and research institutions in Romania.

The participation of the President of InfoCons in this event is part of the organisation’s efforts to support institutional dialogue, international cooperation and the development of services centred on citizens’ needs and rights. In the context of the rapid digitalisation of the healthcare sector, accurate information, data protection, transparency and equitable access to innovation are essential for strengthening patients’ trust in healthcare systems.
