Mr. Sorin Mierlea , President of InfoCons , is attending the reception organized on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day of India, hosted by the Embassy of India in Romania, today, January 26, 2026.

Republic Day is one of the three national holidays of India and marks the anniversary of the enactment of the Constitution of India on January 26, 1950. Although India gained independence from British rule on August 15, 1947—a date celebrated annually as Independence Day—the country continued to be governed for nearly three years under the colonial Government of India Act of 1935.

The adoption of the Constitution represented a defining moment in India’s modern history, formally establishing the nation as a sovereign, democratic republic and laying the foundation for its legal, political, and institutional framework.
