This meeting happens one week before the UN Trade & Development Intergovernmental Group of Experts (IGE) plans to convene in order to discuss how governments can better support the development of consumer associations . Therefore , the meeting organized today by Consumers International aims to gather members’ insights on the vital role of consumer organizations in promoting fair , safe , and sustainable marketplaces .
